Tonight Hokie needed to make Platinum. He needed to do about 475 VPPs in like 3 hours so I took half his action on the 110s and railed his games. We also discussed hands and reads over mics. He ended up making 505 bucks going 7-2 and another 52.50 in a 55. He was still about 150 short with 5 minutes to go (he ran into a ton of passive fish) so we did a 500 + 20 and a 200 + 10 and he paid my rake. I lost the flip on the 500 so now my sharkscope took a dive, but I got the 200.
All in all I made over 275 on Hokie's run, and another buyin or so from my games earlier.
Now to August goals:
Make platinum in 3 weeks.
Satellite into a seat for the WCOOP HU event (I'm 0-2 so far).
Play the 220 HU MTT on Sunday at least once (I'll probably sell some action on it and buy some up from another HUer).
Get my bankroll to 10k.
Get the HU Coaching site up and running by third week of August. Have at least 10 subscribers in the first month, 15-20 by month 2.
Take shots at higher games.
As for the last one, I feel I'm playing really well as of late and that I can take some shots at the 220s. I've been challenging almost every single player that sits with me to play 2 tables with me. One player has accepted out of like 30-40 so far. I don't mean to say this as a brag, I think this just highlights the kind of people that play outside of their bankroll in the 110s. I routinely play nutty players that have an average stake of 10 dollars and have played only a few 110s.
So I will be taking some shots soon (almost certainly) and I will blog about these and probably end up writing a little article on taking shots, a guide perhaps? I have some strong opinions about shot taking and efficiency with bankroll and the mental condition(s) in relation to shot taking.
I have some jobs to do with my business tomorrow so I'm going to cut this short. I had some other stuff I wanted to talk about that I can't seem to remember now.
Entries to come more frequently.
