I apologize

For the lack of posting. Last week was miserable, after I completed half of that job it rained like all week. A few tornadoes in the area, tons of rain, big storms, etc. Not a ton of poker, but some.

Website is still not up (obviously if you know what I'm talking about you probably know this). The webmaster is finalizing the logo(s) I paid 20 bucks for (ty somethingawful), other than that the complicated stuff on the site seems done. There's a lot of little things that require stuff you wouldn't normally need with, say a website like my sealcoating website (preciseseal.com fyi).

As far as videos for the site go, things are looking pretty good. I have 3 top husng players with videos done in some form, at least two have one solid video for the site already.

The free videos from the coaches and myself are coming along slowly but surely. The first 6 dollar video I made my power went out like 30 seconds into the match. I came back and recorded a 4 hand victory. I did another 6 dollar video the other day in which I won on the first hand (I seem to run a ton better in these 6s, but it helps that people get it in oh so light) and opened another game during the video. The goal is to try to get 20 minutes out of the free videos, 30 for most of the "sale" videos.

I also made a few 110 videos the other night when I came home, pretty trashed. I played the same guy 3x. The second match I really felt I played so great, but somehow Camtasia froze during the "saving" process and everytime I open it asks me if I want to recover the file, but stays at 0% recovered forever when I click "yes." Frustrating. I'll have to watch the first match and see if it's up to par, I'll either post it on 2+2 or here for free if it's good, as I'm not planning on making drunks videos of my play (no matter how well I seem to play drunk) for profit.

I finally finished that big job for my business today. Yesterday we did like 75% of the second half and a small part to finish the first half, today was 3 hours to finish it. Got a nice big check for the job and it is easily my most profitable job of the season, almost 30 buyins in my normal game.

Other than that not a whole hell of a lot has been going on. Two of my buddies came over for dinner tonight, my girlfriend cooked her favorite meal, chicken rice.

One of the buddies that came over is in a training program for a monestary in Hawaii. He should be leaving for the island in 2 months, having previously been there for 6-8 months. If he continues with this program he'll be a monk in like a year and a half. He's been working for me the last month and was the original person that got me into sealcoating (I invested 500 bucks in his original business and worked with him like 5 months after, started my business the next year after seeing how much money there was to be made/witnessing terrible management by many business owners in this line of work).

My other friend just split with his girlfriend of 2.5 years. I've been friends with her since before they dated, but I've been friends with him for much longer. He's been kind of down, but I saw his band play a show the other night (they play like every weekend all over the city and suburbs) and we decided to get together before he starts school Thursday. We haven't hung out a ton this summer, he was busy working 40 hr weeks 9-5 at a printing shop, I've been running my business and messing with poker. He also lives bout 45 minutes away, so it's not like he's a hop and a skip down the road.

Back to the poker side of things, Hokiegreg just sent me his free video for the website. He showed me some hands in it and my hopes are fairly high that this will be up to the quality he is capable of delivering. There was one hand he may have not played perfectly, but it turned out ok and his reasoning was not bad for why he played it his way.

That's all for now, I'll be watching the video when I receive it in 45 min or maybe tomorrow if I fall asleep.

I blame Jman

Been raining all day, ugly. Looks like a good chance it will rain all week, I finished about 90% of the big job yesterday (1/2 of complex yesterday, 1/2 was supposed to be today) and have no clue when I can finish the next half. The next nice day. Everything went perfect with it, it held under the showers that fell 4 hours earlier than the weather channel predicted.

I'm 2-2 today and don't really feel like playing more. I haven't felt like playing much lately, probably because I'm not making any money. I don't know how to get myself out of the never ending streak of breakeven. I swear I've ran bad, but the longer it lasts the more unlikely it is.

Anyways, website supposed to be at least functional tomorrow, so hopefully that is one piece of good news that happens. I need to make a video for the site (the 3 other coaches are each making one) but I haven't felt up to it lately. We're going to each have a free video available to anybody that registers for the site with buyins from 6-33. I know at least 2 other coaches have worked on their videos so far.

I really feel like golfing, went to the range after the job yesterday and started hitting the driver well after I worked up from the short irons. I hit the last two dozen balls in the pouring rain, but it felt good to actually hit the driver well.

I need to figure out how to get out of the funk that is HUSNG and make some money, I've been toying around with playing on FTP, supposedly players are a hell of a lot fishier and crazier, but the variance is also going to be higher. If I'm truly just running bad right now I can only imagine how I'm going to handle it if I got off to a bad streak on FTP. We'll see.

More to come soon.

Bankroll same as last post minus 10 bucks.

He started minraising almost every hand in the 50-100. I lost a few pots early on in the level and we went back and forth, he'd fold to pretty much every shove. He'd also raise to 300 and folded to 2 of my shoves there. Then came this beauty.

He didn't sit again after the third match. He would call super light all the way, he'd raise random hands it appeared and he'd shove nut type hands on the river (or so I read, never called one of the few). He also 3-bet almost any ace. All in all he was a pretty terrible player. Not a word during any of the 3 matches, must've had chat off or something.

Anyways, I've got a big job to do tomorrow and Sunday, so not much play probably. If I manage to bring in it ahead of schedule and I'm not beat I'll probably play a ton (or if it rains I'll have to reschedule).

Short Update

Went on vacation for 1.5 days or so, haven't played much lately, been getting business in order for my two biggest days of the year (Saturday and Sunday). I have a 4k+ job to do on those days and they're forecasting rain, ugh.

Site is slowly but surely making progress, I'm trying to get a good collection of videos ready for the opening of the site. Again, slowly but surely.

More updates soon.

Setback

Played about as good as I may have ever played today, overall. Went 7-12 though.

This has had to be the worst day of variance I have ever encountered, but I'm more or less feeling fine after it. I also do not know if I have been floated this much ever before with junk hands. KT on A85 flop with no FD (raised pot he was OOP) 55 on a T87 flop. Turn 9 river 6. There were loads of hands like this, it was ugly. I also won some very fast games. Plowking sat with me again, I won that one very fast. I don't think I mind him sitting at all anymore, I generally prefer the bigger winners do not sit with me but I really have no idea how he has a 12% ROI in the 110s.

I'm not going to bore you with the all in preflop beats, but those were definitely there tonight. What really tore me apart though was losing a bunch of flips. That really seemed to do me in tonight, even with all the beats I think I'd of ended up down 100-200 max if I had won half my flips.

Another thing I did tonight is 2 tabled once. I really felt in the zone and got a guy to do 2 at once (which I try with about 95% of people that sit). He was a loser on Sharkscope but played pretty solid, I lost the first when he floated AT on a KJ6 flop to my 66 in a 3-bet pot. Hit his Q on the river. Second one I won though. So I opened up two the next round and split vs two different people. I may try more of this soon, but it's such a tough thing to do when I'm down 600 dollars. I'm not a big fan of every playing higher or playing more tables when down, but I wasn't tilting and felt I was at the very top of my game.

Going to try to get back near 4k again tomorrow, my goal is going to be tough.

Bankroll $3,138.57

Goal by the 19th, $6100.

Update

Played really bad the last few days, but ended up ok. Started playing badly today but I really got back in the zone in the last 110 against RiceStud. He won 2 virtual flips to end up winning the game, but I feel I dominated the match in every way and was playing my A game.

I played a 4 man 3300 FPP sat to the Sunday Mil. Wow is that a value, I ended up losing the second match but the competition was ridiculously bad. Here are the two major hands from my experience in this.

After this the guy let me blind him out for 2 hands or whatever, and the two games ended up going 11 hands total (including the 2 "sitting out" hands). Not bad timewise, just horrible players that love to gamble in these. If you decide to play these after reading my blog, please do not sit with me in them, I would prefer to keep playing these kind of guys.

Here's the hand I lost on, this guy was pretty horrible and was donk-overbetting flops often from what I saw (I caught the 20ish hand match he played against the player before) with weak hands. Definitely think I'm ahead of his range as it is mostly made up of 2-3rd pairs and overcards.

So I will continue to play these to help boost my bankroll and my "rakeback" from these vpps. Definitely happy they are here.

Gf's dad is back in town, so playing will be rough the next few days. Usually it takes a few days for him to really annoy me (us), but he's only staying until Sunday morning so I should be fine.

Saw the new Showtime show Californiacation the other day. Great potential, David Ducheveny or whatever from X-Files is the main actor and I really enjoyed the premiere. Some other shows I've been watching lately are Flight of the Concords and a staple since season 1, Entourage. A lot of people seem to think Entourage has gone downhill, but I disagree for the most part. I really love season 1 of Entourage, and I disliked the whole Mandy Moore thing in season 2. Season 3 was average, but so far I think Season 4 has been better than 3. I could probably summarize those last 4 sentences in like 5 words, but basically I do not think it is any worse than it was the last two seasons, it might even be better.

Last but certainly not least, the husng.com coaching site is nearing completion and almost ready to open. Lots of good stuff to go along with that, I'm currently messing around with the test server that the site is on and organizing video creators so that we have a good collection of videos for the opening. Registration is free for the site and we're going to kick it off with a few free videos for players that register with the site. Also going to do a freeroll for a free month membership. More on that later.

Goal

Ok, the Goal is to make 3k in 2 weeks. That'd be a high for me. I'm currently at 3100 thanks to a few more losses and those stakes.

This guy was a very bad station who would call down with a naked 3 here a lot. The river was close and I should've bet a bit more on the turn. Obviously QJ and a flush both hit the river. I can't check call profitably because he will check behind a lot of misses (I assume because he checked behind third pair and a missed flush in 3-bet pots previously). 375 on the turn is my mistake in this hand, in my opinion. I'm shoving every river profitably against his range (I think).

Here's another pretty hand from earlier today...

I ended up losing that game, he flat called a 3x raise when I had 12bb left with QTo. Beat my KTo, on a Q high flop. GG me.

Going to eat dinner w my gf at my mom's house. Might hit the driving range tonight, but unlikely. Have to watch entourage at some point and I'm going to just keep playing tonight. Might be a long one. We'll see.

Out in 2nd round. I tried to buy action from Yellowsub and Camel but was too late. They exited in round 1 and 2. Even the people I try to buy action from are running bad :(

Busto! Goals...

Buddy lost 1200 on my name last night HU cash, I'm down about 900 the last few days in 110s.

I bought 25% of 2 player's action in the 200 + 15 dollar HU MTT on stars, it just started.

Goal of 3k in 2 weeks, more on that later.

Rough Day

Started out 0-5. Won one then lost one. I don't know what it was today but it seemed like I was out thinking myself at times and just getting myself into terrible spots I think. I can usually be objective and know what I am doing wrong or if I'm just running bad or some combination, but today I have no idea. Going to have to review the hand histories, but I'm not really feeling like it now.

The meeting with the website guy went very well. The site should be up within 2 weeks. I did a rough draft of the text for the website today and a site map for him. Looking forward to this as it progresses. I hope all the players that expressed interest in making videos are actually going to come through. That is my biggest concern about this site, I have confidence that there will be plenty of customers for it and the coaches that are working with the members will do very well.

Some Stuff

PokerStars added 50NL - 1k NL HU cash tables. I played a bit of 200NL HU cash today, ended up down 18 over like 10 minutes. Just wanted to try it out a bit. I might play some 100NL full stack or a shorter stack of 200NL HU soon. But I want to mainly keep playing 110s HUSNG.

Meeting with the website guy for the HUSNG coaching site tonight. Gotta drive downtown for it, going to talk over a few drinks and finalize pricing and what he has to do as well as timeframe. I'll post about that tonight or tomorrow.

Played a French player today for 5 games. He won the first 2 in the 110s, then I won 3 straight. He was a pretty big fish and sucked out on me a few times. It was fun. I tried to get him to play 2 tables or to play a 220 with me, but he didn't understand English very well and he had to go after game 5. It was a success just to get him to keep playing.

Just noticed I did not post this. Going to meet website guy.
