I got GoldStar last night. Plan to maintain it for a month or two then go for Platinum when I move up to 110s.
Started playing 55s for good a few days ago too. 15-7 so far at those since the permanent move.
I feel I've been playing really good poker as of late, I just need to play more.
I sealcoated my first driveways of the year yesterday too. They came out nicely and this year should be pretty smooth for my business with my new tank/trailer and a year of experience for myself and my primary worker. I am also not going to have to work as hard as last year as I will have 2 workers on regular days, 3 workers on big parking lots. Mostly supervising and helping out with smaller stuff. I still have a lot of work to do with the business but it feels good that I finally got to start.
On other news, I'm moving into the new place the 6th I believe. Still hashing out the details of what is going to go on with the second bedroom there. I'm sticking to my contention that it should be my office and have plans to put a desk with my computer and all that stuff in it as well as a couch. My girlfriend's father would like to put a bed in there and make it a guest bedroom so his drunk ass can sleep there when he's in town. I maintain that he can continue to sleep on a couch/futon/daybed. We'll see where this goes, he is already buying me a replacement desk because my current desk is "too bulky." My girlfriend agrees and I am fine with upgrading to a nice L-shaped desk. I'll post pics of the new place when I move in.
From the 14th-21st+ my girlfriend will be at Loyola Hospital getting a kidney transplant. I will likely be at the hospital/nearby for most of those days and driving back and forth on all other days. I'm not sealcoating during the transplant and will be playing poker with all my downtime, depending on how things are going. Overall unless there are complications I should get a lot of games in that week. I'm sure I'll be drinking a lot with my girlfriend's father as well and eating a lot of food. It will likely be a very up and down week in terms of emotion/stress but I should be playing well when I do play because I don't play when I'm tired/stressed/unhappy.
Now to the degen-challenge. A degenerate gambler I know turned 50 bucks into something like 5500 playing way above his bankroll limits in the last week. He finally paid back my friend a stake of like 400 bucks and he owed another guy I know 100 bucks. He sent the 100 to me and the guy told me to just try to turn it into more money. I've always had a rough idea of an extremely aggressive HU challenge that I wanted to try, I think now is the perfect time.
I'm only using this 100 bucks for the challenge. I'm starting with 33s and when I reach 3 buyins for the next level HU I am moving up. So when I hit 150 I'll play 55s, when I hit 300 I'll move up to 110s, etc. If I am ever under 3 buyins I will move down until I have 3 buyins for the next highest level and so on. Hopefully I can not run horrible like I have at the 33s since starting this (won first one, lost 3 then won one more to survive) and I can catch a heater and run with it. We'll see, I will update this daily until I've either made some ridiculous amount of money or busted the 100 bucks. Hopefully I can get through the 55s tomorrow so I can start at 110s for June (vpps obv).
The same degen that ran that money up also hosted a little private HU MTT today. I went 2-1 and lost to Crounder in the finals. I ran TT into JJ within the first 5 hands, I was hungry and gambled willingly and lost. There were 6 people in it, so Crounder and another player got a first round bye. I won my two matches very quickly against the degen and dboy from 2+2 (so is Crounder). The tourney was set up in a fucked up payout so 3-4th got 18 bucks for a profit of negative 4 dollars. Second place got 30 bucks so I made 8 bucks. Crounder got 56 bucks for first I believe.
That's about it for now, Crounder is going to do this challenge too. I'll try to update with his status as well as mine each day.

Update
Sorry to any readers that I haven't updated in awhile.
I've been extremely busy with a lot of stuff. I've run into some issues with my business that have required time, I've had a friend's birthday as well as a few other parties to attend and my girlfriend was in the hospital for a day.
All is well and I'm actually moving into a house around the end of the first week in June. It should be June 6th but it isn't finalized yet.
My girlfriend is getting a kidney transplant in mid June so everything will be settled at least a week prior to that.
On the HU front, I haven't played much lately. I'm probably going to stay at the 55s from now on. My final winrate at the 33s was 67% over 175ish games. I don't have the PT stats in front of me, so those are fairly accurate but not exact numbers.
I'm going to play at least 10 55s per day until June. This will give me GoldStar. I finished off the bonus on Stars by variance Sunday Mil sats taking up all my FPPs. I ended up getting a piece of a good MTT friend of mine, 25% and he busted at about 3k/10.5k players.
I also had a friend of mine who was in town for the weekend 6-8 tabling 50NL shortstacked. He got me a ton of VPPs and made somewhere around 80-100 bucks, we obviously did it for the VPPs. I lost about 60 bucks on his FTP account playing 22s, but I ran extremely horrid and only played 10-12 games. I still have mixed feelings about the structure of FTP HUSNG but I think I like them. This is good news for the hopefully not so distant future when I am playing low level HUcash and high level HUSNG on FTP (unless stars gets HU cash tables, which I believe is being decided in the next month or two).
That's really it for now, I'll be updating with some stats and a video or two of some matches between other 2+2ers.
One side note, I feel my game has made another significant improvement and I am really comfortable playing the 55s. Not that I wasn't before, but I really feel good about it now and am happy where my game is at.

Bad Day
So I got 15 games in today, went 8-7. Started 4-0 then just ran like shit for my next 11. It was actually tough to get through these for the first time in probably 3 weeks. I really fought through it but obviously dropping 7 of 11 isn't anything to be proud of. I was down 2 buyins 2 days ago and made that up yesterday, so I'm 19-15 since this Stars Bonus started. Not good.
I'm also behind 11 games on this Stars bonus (Goal of playing 15 a day throughout the 10-12 days of this bonus) so I have some slack to make up. I planned on getting another 5 in today but I really am not in the mood to keep playing right now. I'll probably get up and try to get in 10-15 before tomorrow evening, hopefully have a good day and get up to 20 before tomorrow night and then go out. I can see myself playing 30 games in one of these next few days if everything goes well.
I also have a few Sunday Million things going on. With the added 250k and 10% increase in the amount of people cashing this is a fairly good thing. I won't be playing in this myself, but I plan on putting 300 dollars max on this through various action buys.

Updates
Been playing well overall. Had my first losing day the 12th, but ended up down only 70 bucks or so in 13 games. Made up for it yesterday going 5-1, and I've won my first 4 games today for a 9 game streak.
Also, I noticed my Sharkscope recent results have not all be recorded. I wonder if this is a one time thing or they have been off for awhile. My total profit is a tad under 2k on there and it should be closer to 2300.
My stats at the 33s so far are 132 games played, 93-39 record for a 70.45% winrate and a 34.78% ROI. These numbers are extremely good and I would imagine they would have to be inflated from my true winrate. I should be getting in at least 200-300 total games at these before I am totally playing 55s, so we'll see if it starts to even out a little more. I was at 75% winrate at 80 games I believe, so it has come down some, but I also went through some bad variance. We will see.
On another note, I played another 2+2er yesterday, Insane Steve. I didn't know he was a 2+2er until I saw his name and that he was playing 33s yesterday on the forum. We're going to go over our match history together and perhaps even play a few private matches soon.
I'll be playing some more matches that I was talking about in the next few days. My goal is to get 15 33 dollar turbo matches in per day during this bonus. That should put me just below Gold Star level with a week to go. I'd like to play on average 2 matches per day against 2+2ers as well in a private 5 dollar game.

Stars Bonus
Stars is running a pretty insanely good bonus until the 23rd I believe.
In celebration of there 10 billionth hand being dealt or something ridiculous like that, they are adding 250k to the Sunday Mil and extending payouts to include top 25%. I still don't think this is worth me using my FPPs for Sunday Mil tickets and playing in one, but maybe I will.
They are also adding money to several other MTTs throughout the week including the Sunday Warmup.
Furthermore, you can deposit with 25% bonus to make up to 150 bucks. I may actually do this for the free 150 bucks (you only have to earn 15fpps per 1 dollar within 180 days, lol).
Now for the best part, during this time they are also giving EVERYONE double FPPS and most importantly double VPPs. This is pretty surprising to me, as I normally get 12 fpps for a 33 dollar turbo (8fpps + 4 for Silver Star). Now I'm getting 24 vpps and fpps per match. This will help me get to Gold Star this month as well as rake in the FPPs. Go stars.

Beer
So there's this Brewery/Restaurant about 5 minutes away from me. I had eaten there a few times when I was about 17-18. About a month ago I went there, tried a few beers, and it was excellent.
Recently my friend started brewing his own beer. One is about a week away from being ready, another just started, so about 3 weeks away. I went back the day after he started his second brew, and had a few other beers at this brewery. Again, great beer.
So for the Mayweather/De la Hoya fight, my friend and I bought 4, 1/2 gallon "growlers" aka jugs, of 3 different kinds of their beer. We got so messed up and enjoyed probably the best beer I've ever tasted (which means more than it should, but I'm not an expert). Tonight we are buying 5 half gallon jugs of 5 different beers, as our friend from Iowa State is in town for a week before an internship out in Iowa all summer.
If you ever happen to the south suburbs of Chicago and you love beer you will have to visit this place.

Lost a Silverstar Freeroll (100fpps) today, then I played a few 33s. Got 4 of the easiest players I've come across at this level. 4-0, broke 2k bankroll for the first time.
Also, ordered Mayweather vs De La Hoya tonight at my girlfriends, going to have a few people over for that. We're watching the Bulls game first, and getting a few gallons of some really good beer from a local brewery. Should be a great night as long as the Bulls win. I've played a lot more aggressively with a few more hands than normal since watching that AaronBeen video. It's not that I would like to play like his style against these players, but I can afford to raise a little more on the button against the LAGGY donks that make up so much of the 33 dollar playerbase. My PF raise % has been a little over 30% so far at the 33s I believe. I'd like to get to 40% against the LAGs and obviously 50% or more against the tighter/more passive players I face.

I've played a lot more aggressively with a few more hands than normal since watching that AaronBeen video. It's not that I would like to play like his style against these players, but I can afford to raise a little more on the button against the LAGGY donks that make up so much of the 33 dollar playerbase. My PF raise % has been a little over 30% so far at the 33s I believe. I'd like to get to 40% against the LAGs and obviously 50% or more against the tighter/more passive players I face.

A few matches tonight
Played some private 5.50 HU matches verses two of the bloggers linked on the right bar of this blog. Dboy/lolbillfrist and omgwtfnoway/wtfnoway.
I wasn't happy with my overall performance. I'll post the videos later when Joe is on, hopefully he can create a PXF HH video for me. I lost the first to Dboy. The plan was to play aggressively post flop against him and eventually get him in a little wider than he usually would get in. Unfortunately I lost a lot of chips early and by the time I got him in ahead I had 760 chips. Which is fine but his kicker paired. Overall just a regular match.
I played OMG twice then. I'm not sure how I felt about these matches. I won the first, he won the second. The second was a very long match. I'll have to watch all 3 videos to really analyze my play. I was a little too hesitant at times but I was also fairly aggressive overall I felt. Maybe the spots I picked just didn't line up right with the cards tonight, or maybe I just was making bad reads. Either way, I don't feel cards helped me very much in these 3 matches. I'm not sure if anyone played better than anyone else in all 3. I'm pretty sure I misplayed too many hands though, so maybe I was outplayed overall.
I'll be playing a lot more private matches in the next few days though. I have a few other players I'd like to play some more, plus I would like to play these two guys some more. We'll see how it goes in the next batch of matches I play. If I don't improve I'll definitely have to make adjustments to my game against the better players. One thing I worried about coming into these is that I would play too TAG because of my adjustments in these 22s and 33s. I feel this is not a problem after tonight, though something may be missing from my game.

AaronBeen Vids
So I just watched AaronBeen's two CR videos. They are both HU and both regular speed 50+2.50 level games.
I found some interesting stuff in this video. He plays very LAG postflop, especially in position. This is something that I do a lot against good players (usually 2+2ers) or very tight-weak players (not nearly as many it seems in the turbos). Lately I've had to play a lot tighter post flop and a lot more aggressive. The first player he played was so weak-tight I think he could have raised any two cards and not gotten into any trouble.
The second match was a little more interesting. He made a pretty good call down but villain's line made such little sense that it was definitely a call down you would have to make if you are a good player.
He talked a lot about playing with low stack-blind ratio. This is good because most HU players that are not 2+2ers play pretty badly at these areas. I feel my advantage hardly decreases against the average opponent at these blind levels because they are so bad, and in some cases actually increases. So for Cardrunners he may have provided the most valuable lesson for the HU customers with that. I read a player by the name of BCM's blogpost about this video improving his endgame play. BCM is a successful 100-200 dollar HUSNG player. This really surprised me because BCM was limping at these blind levels with short stacks before seeing this video. Anyways, it is apparent to me that AB provided a lot of insight to the endgame of a lot of players.
As far as his specifics, I disagreed fairly strongly about one of his moves. Towards the end of the 25-50 blind level, AB has been beating his opponent fairly well. The guy is a little too bluffy and AB came back from an early deficit to take the lead on him more or less through very poorly played hands by villain. AB has him outchipped roughly 2200-800. The guy raises on the button and AB shoves a hand like K6. This is a fine play, I do this a lot in certain situations, usually with a little stronger, but nevertheless this is a good aggressive and IMO profitable play. The opponent had been tilting the last ten or so hands, and called with J9s or something very similar. He sucked out on AB, but that is not a big deal.
Now this is where I feel the error was made. The blinds get to 50-100, Been has about 1k chips. He starts to talk about the endgame, and shoving when the pot is 5x your stack or less (I think he also talked about 7-8x bb or less in stack sizes earlier, no matter). He decides to open shove T7s. Villain folded in this situation, but I disagree with this play in this situation. The way the game is going, the guy called him with J9s before, this is a fairly bad situation for him to shove in 10bb deep. I may be wrong, I've heard people advocating being this aggressive here before, but against a villain that is going to call too wide, I certainly would not want to shove loosely when you are 10bb and he is 20bb deep. Maybe the other HU bloggers can voice their opinions here, but this is definitely too loose for the realms of SAGE at 10bb. SAGE leaves off at 7bbs deep and you shove T7o there as your worst hand.
I guess in retrospect this isn't a hugely bad play or anything, but it seems to be a little bad against the average villain and even worse against one who will call with too many hands here.
Overall it was a very good video though. I wish he would have played turbos, as I got the impression his goal was to replicate the end of a MTT. I also feel his LAG style postflop would put him in a lot of harder situations where I would be interested in seeing how he did in a turbo. Players don't call or fold on 227 flops OOP when you're raising the button 75% and c-betting everything in the turbos. They raise, they shove, they call and raise the turn, etc. It doesn't make them any better because they are so bad in other areas, it just makes them different. And I would like to see how his style plays out in a turbo and what kind of adjustments, if any, he would make.
Anyways, I'm off to dinner. Going to play some more tonight and probably play another 2+2er in some private matches. I would like to make a video soon with commentary and get feedback to improve my play. I would also like to make a video for beginning HU players in the future. Right now I believe I would make too many errors that would take a lot of time to correct/talk about/figure out for a new player to get a lot of value out of, so that will be sometime when I have grown into a more solid player. For now I just need to improve.
I also would like to 2-table in the future, to improve my hourly rate. I am not extremely comfortable 2 tabling at the present time, I feel I miss a little too much and it upsets me, which doesn't help me mentally while I am playing. As of late, nothing has upset me more than missing a bet. I seem to miss a lot more when 2 tabling. I also don't feel I have figured out the best default plays in many situations as of yet. Or at least I cannot figure them out in a few seconds. I feel 2 tabling really increases the leaks in my game currently, and I would like to get rid of them before doing so.

I'm trying to adjust to some new contacts (haven't worn contacts in a few years) so I can't really play right now. Going to watch a few cardrunners HU videos and maybe comment on them when I am done. Experiencing a bit of variance today, lost a few 75-25/80-20s. Also ran into a maniac I've played before at the 33s. This time it was in my 2nd $55. He got me on a 60-40 all in, no big deal, but he coolered me in a few big pots throughout the match. I'm 2-2 in 55s today and 3-1 in 33s.

Last night in between the 2nd and 3rd bands at the show there was a stripper doing all sorts of stuff with a dildo on the far end of the upstairs venue. Random stuff. Some people said it was from a birthday party, some people said it was from a bachelor party. They were charging like 5 bucks for people to sit within like 15 feet of her. I chose to view for a few minutes the free route. She was pretty short with unbelievably obnoxious boobs. It was interesting though.

Few matches today...
Went 2-1 so far today, then played a 50+2.50 4 man with my buddy Joe. We didn't get paired first round and each played a fish. I had mine down very quickly, then it turned into a grind, the guy was a horrible semi-station and I developed some nice reads on his transparent play. Eventually after having him in between 400-800 chips for 2 blind rounds I finally got him in on top pair to mid pair hands (this was honestly the only time we both had these hands in like 60 hands or whatever, silly cards). Joe finished his guy off about ten minutes earlier in the 50 dollar big blinds.
Joe will put the entire HH for our match up on PXF later tonight and I will link it for anybody that wishes to watch the match. I felt I had pretty solid cards and kept myself in very good situations for most of the match. I definitely messed up a few hands. Below I will outline the 3 hands that really killed me during the match with a little bit of text below each. I'll add a few other bigger hands too. If you want to wait for the entire HH video it will be up tonight. If you have any questions/comments/requests for any hands I welcome them entirely.
Just note: We do a deal when we play these, if you win first round and we do not meet each other in finals, if you win you send back the buyin. If we meet in the finals we evenly split the prize pool (this is well within the rules of Pokerstars, I emailed support awhile ago about it).

This was a pretty bad raise, for obvious reasons I think. He may stab at this often, but even so a call is a ton better. This is similar to the last hand in a way and I switched rolls with him.

This is an unfortunate hand to have for me OOP with these stack sizes against Joe. His range on my flop checks is huge but it is slightly skewed towards a fold for me here given that flop and his bet. I often play very well IMO against him OOP in big pots because I do not 3-bet him a ton, so when he calls I'm usually pretty solid going into the hand.

I'm not sure about this call down, it is kind of weak given the board, but I'm sure he doesn't think I have a hand too often here until I flatcall the turn as well. This hand was very tough. I haven't played Joe in awhile (we used to play a ton) and he seemed to be tightening a bit. A month or two ago I would instacall this and be happy with whatever he had, regardless if I were behind or not. I actually timed down to like 5 seconds on my timer here. I ended up thinking I was about 5% too short in equity to call here. I likely did not include enough overcards or him doing this with overcards enough times. Considering what I've raised with throughout the match, I do not think this was a very wise move on his part, but he's always been fairly "over the top" happy in our matches, for better or worse. I will end up doing the math tomorrow on this hand and figuring out in that spot should I have called at the current time in the match.

I'd been raising a little more often overall. I had just went through a fairly card dead spot and raised a few drawy type hands because I felt he'd fold a ton more because of that "tight" raise image. Then I got a few hands so it probably shifted into "he might be really opening up," and felt I would get a shove sooner or later. I'd also been coming over the top with a few small pairs and KJ once, so I was happy to get a call here. Not much to say about this hand, but I'd of had a little lead and the game would go on if I had held.
Overall, it was a fun match, I made a few bad plays, but I feel I played fairly well overall. As I said before I will be playing better quality players (mostly in $5.50 private matches, this is an exception) in the next few days, so hopefully I can solidify my game against "real" players to prepare me for the higher limit games.
I'm going to see my friend's band play again tonight. They're playing a much better venue than the last one, this time they will be a block south of Wrigleyville at a Mexican restaurant. A friend of mine who lives 5-10 minutes away from the place knows the owners and said it's a good place. There's a bar in the basement which is where they are playing, so this should be a good show. I also used to live about 5-10 minutes away from here as well (a few blocks from the same friend) and am inviting a few people to come watch the show.

I'm going to see my friend's band play again tonight. They're playing a much better venue than the last one, this time they will be a block south of Wrigleyville at a Mexican restaurant. A friend of mine who lives 5-10 minutes away from the place knows the owners and said it's a good place. There's a bar in the basement which is where they are playing, so this should be a good show. I also used to live about 5-10 minutes away from here as well (a few blocks from the same friend) and am inviting a few people to come watch the show.

Daily Update and other stuff
I didn't get to play much today, was working on my truck and a few other things for my business. I went 3-1 today, so I've won 9 of my last 10. Tomorrow I am going to play a lot more, so we'll see if I have anything a little more interesting to talk about.
If not tomorrow, then Friday I will be playing some good 2+2ers in private matches, so some good hands and/or situations should definitely come up.
Which brings me to this: I am still not sure what direction I would like to go with this blog. Since I have had a winning day basically everyday since I created this, I have updated it everyday (my only superstition?) . I have no idea what I would like to do with this, I dislike posting strategy because I feel 2+2 is the best place for that. I obviously am not a baller so this is not a fan blog and just posting how I played each day is kind of silly without anything else. If you have any ideas about what to do with this blog, let me know.
I think that is about it, I may make a post soon with the best HU articles for people without that much experience in HU play. Most articles will be from the 2+2 Heads Up forum, but I may find a few links to other places (Definitely SAGE).

Random Stuff
May is off to a good start, 5-0 in 33s. Didn't really have too much time to play today, about 9 hours of the day were taken away from me. I had to go to the hospital with girlfriend, she had some routine tests and I slept in the car from like 6am til 2pm or so. It was hot and stuffy and I was on like 3 hrs of drunk sleep. I also watched Golden State blow the game against Dallas. I think they'll crush the Mavs in Game 6 at home though.
In the next few days I'm going to try to play a lot of private matches with other good HU players. I find at these 33s that I'm playing a ton of high variance donks and my play style has adjusted to them so much that I am semi-worried/at least thinking that my top game may suffer by the time I start to play presumably stronger competition in the 55s. So I want to address this before it becomes a problem, if it is or will.
My bankroll is now technically rolled for 55s, I'll probably play a few tomorrow if I start out well in 33s, but I'm not sure yet, it'll be a spur of the moment thing, like when I started with 33s. I was about to reg for a 22, sharkscoped someone I saw sitting in a 33, they were a fish and I played them. I won that one as well as 4 of the next 5 and have not played anything but 33s since. So we shall see.
